Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck: – 1 Timothy 1:19
No matter where you are in your faith and in your ability to manage Kingdom finances, holding on to faith is always the right thing to do. In fact, when you feel confused and the enemy is condemning you and shooting doubt and unbelief against your mind, that’s not the time to question God or throw your hands in the air. That’s the time to hold on the unchanging Word of God and let the Word of God do its work to strengthen you and restore your peace and confidence in Him.
Sometimes when people are in a bind or predicament, they lose heart and they lay down their faith. But God wants us to keep the faith. Hebrews 8:6 says that we as New Testament believers have a “new and better covenant.” Yet it seems that so many in the Old Testament blow us out of the water where faith and trust in God is concerned. Many of them understood what it meant to have a covenant with God, and they experienced great wealth and abundant blessing in their lifetimes. Similarly, we need to have faith in our covenant and in the redemption from poverty, sickness, and spiritual death that Christ has provided for us. And we need to hold on to that throughout our life, at every phase of our spiritual journey.
God will take care of you when you’re clinging to Him and His Word in faith and truth. And He will give you seed to sow – He’ll deliver “talents” unto you and allow you to manage His resources for Him. Remember that when your hands are full, your heart needs to be full too — full of God and His Word. God can control your hand if He can control your heart and lead you into truth, into opportunities to give in obedience to Him, and ultimately into your land of plenty.
