Renew – Remain

 ^“Among them the god of this world [Satan] has blinded the minds of the unbelieving to prevent them from seeing the illuminating light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”  2 Corinthians 4:4 (AMP)

“And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be ^[a]transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you]” Romans 12:2 (AMP)

To prevent unbelievers from becoming believers, satan blinds their minds so they are unable to see the greatness of Christ. Pay very close attention to what is being said in 2 Corinthians 4:4. The enemy blinded the minds, not the eyes, of the unbelievers in order to keep them from seeing the light of Christ.  The enemy understands very well that the mind is the starting point for all the events that come to pass in our lives. Which is why God gave us with Romans 12:2 – we must constantly renew our minds.

When you are walking in the will of God, satan cannot touch your mind. Oh yes, he is certainly going to shoot at you, it doesn’t matter who you are. The enemy remains “lock and loaded” and always ready to come at you with a sidetracking thought. He will never quit.  This just requires you to stay prepared and in position to defeat him every time he comes with his lying artillery called thoughts. As soon as the deceptive thoughts appear, you immediately say, “I pull that down! I cast that down!”. Listen to me, I do not care how many times you have to keep repeating it; keep saying it until those thoughts leave your mind.  Keep casting and pulling down all contrary thoughts until they have been replaced in your mind with thoughts that are uplifting and edifying to God and his plans for your life! Even if it takes longer than you expect for those deceptive thoughts to leave your mind, do not ever stop to say that the pulling and casting down are not working!

As you continue to mature spiritually, you will encounter different levels of mind tests you must pass.  For every level you advance to, the enemy will have new, more alluring tactics he will use to try and keep you at that level.  Regardless of what he presents before you – you are going to have to pull it down, cast it down. Therefore, start every day from now on Renewing your mind with the Word of God and Remaining in position!
