And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? – Matthew 14:28-31

This interaction between Jesus and Peter taught us a marvelous lesson. Many times, we go right to the end of the story and say Peter messed up because He took His eyes off of Jesus. Well, that is true – Peter did begin to sink. But, what’s more important is that Peter got out of the boat and he did actually walk on the water. Let’s focus on that part of the story.

You see, sometimes in your life you may be experiencing a financial storm. It looks like all you can see swirling around you are your bills and how much money you don’t have to do what you need to do.

To get out of a financial storm, you are going to have to get out the boat and trust Jesus. You are going to have to learn how to walk on water by walking by faith and not by sight. You know how you trust your windshield wipers on your car when it’s raining? Well, you’re going to have to let Jesus be your windshield wipers. Every time you become discouraged, thinking that you’ll never be delivered, allow His Holy Spirit to wipe away that doubt and help you see where you’re headed.

This “Money Cometh” walk is a faith walk that is totally backed up by God. God will not let you sink. I am a witness. To get where I am today, I had to get out of the boat. I had to get out of the boat of regular religion and keep on preaching the good news of prosperity, no matter who didn’t agree with it. I’m still walking on the water because I’ve kept my eyes on Jesus this whole time.

Sooner or later you’ll come to realize that the only way out is by doing what God says and trusting Him. Decide to get out of the boat and don’t take your eyes off Jesus!
