Matt 17:1-3 – And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, 2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. 3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. 4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.

A supernatural transaction happened in the second verse of this passage and I will go into more details about that in the days to come. But, today, I want you to take note of Peter’s reaction in the 4th verse.

Peter got nervous. He answered when no one even said anything to him. Now, this is a common mistake people make when the Spirit starts moving. When things seem like they are out of their control they get nervous and start doing things to try and re-gain control of the situation.

Listen: In Spiritual matters, you must lose control before you gain control.

As long as you are in control, you will not lean heavily enough on God to let Him do what He is trying to do. Some of the best moments in my life was when I lost control; when I couldn’t handle the situation on my own.

The supernatural manifestation occurred for Peter to listen and observe, not talk. When God demonstrates in your life, be quiet and watch what He is doing. Remember, you don’t have the answer. If you did, you wouldn’t have that problem. You can’t respond to the supernatural with a natural answer. And all responses that are spoken without revelation are natural responses.
