Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;) – 2 Corinthians 9:10

If you are in any type of financial turmoil, I want to help you locate yourself so that you can find out why. You could even be doing “pretty good,” but God’s will for us is not that we just do “pretty good,” we are supposed to be experiencing overflow in every area.

2 Corinthians 9:10 tells us that God gives seed to the sower and ministers bread for our food. Food is what we are supposed to live off of right? So, we are supposed to be living off the food (or the harvest) and not the seed.

Have you been eating your seed? Some examples of eating your seed is: buying cars ahead of time, buying clothes when you know you should wait, incurring unnecessary debt, etc. If you know that you are not going to be able to pay those notes now, hold on to that money and ask God how you should sow it. When you sow seed instead of eating it, those things that you want can be bought off the harvest. This is the way God’s system works.

Many people cry, pray, and confess over their finances, hoping, that God will change their situation. Well, it’s time to stop looking at God only. You need to look at yourself. Look back over your latest expenses, you’ll be able to tell for yourself whether or not you have been eating your seed.
