John 5:39-40 – Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and think they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

Many times we go to God with scriptures that we have just read or memorized, expecting God to make something happen for us. When it doesn’t, we get disappointed and want to blame God. Scriptures will not become alive to you just because you read or memorize them. Scriptures remain common information until they are breathed on by the Holy Spirit. If you want the supernatural to occur in your life, you must come to the Spirit of the Word and not just the common information.

Common information is information without instruction. In order for miracles and supernatural manifestations to occur in your life, you must have the scripture and the instruction. The principles in the scripture must turn into concepts. Principles reveal information to you while concepts show you how to receive.

When verse 40 says, “and ye will not come to me,” it is really saying, “you will not permit me to direct you.” Sometimes, we do more talking than listening. We try to take scriptures and direct God, instead of allowing God to direct us. Only God knows the directions to where you are trying to go.

When you quote scriptures to God as common information, you are prohibiting your own self from receiving the instruction that you need for your miracle or manifestation.

Every scripture has a miracle in it. It is your job to allow the common information to be converted into revelation. Allow the Holy Spirit to breathe on the scripture and give you instruction on how and what needs to be done on your part. Then, you will be able to follow those instructions right on into  your manifestation!
