But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. (John 1:12).
Sonship denotes the fact that you are a son or a daughter of God; and therefore the privileges that are provided through the blood of Jesus also belong to you. When you received Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior, you automatically became a child of God.
Just like all that your physical father or mother has belongs to you – everything that God, your Father, has belongs to you. Jesus died to receive certain things for the children of God: power, riches, blessings, etc. Everything that the Father has belongs to you because you are His child!
