And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. – Luke 12:15
Jesus warned us to beware of covetousness – which refers to greed and a wrong desire for wealth and possessions. This warning, however, does not apply to our benefits as children of God. We have a right to have wealth and possessions because those things are a part of our covenant with God.You see, covenant produces the same thing that covetousness produces. The difference is that covenant has God’s hand on it.
Remember, that rich young ruler in Mark 10 who Jesus asked to sell his possessions and follow Him? Jesus was not trying to rid him of his possessions because he wasn’t supposed to have them. Jesus was trying to free this young man of covetousness. Ultimately, that young ruler did not pass the test.
Anything you possess, desire, or go after, that you won’t give God control of is a result of covetousness. And as long as you have covetousness in your life, your covenant will not function properly.
What do you have that you’re holding back from God? What part of your life will you not let God address? What are you doing that God can’t be a part of? I am reminded of another question Jesus asked, For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? (Mark 8:36)
Your life does not consist of the abundance of the things that you possess. But, you can have possessions. Just don’t let possessions have you!

This Day Apostle, I Desire For God To Have Everything Part of My Life. God Has All Of Me. My Posessions Will Never Own Me. I Will Always Give God The Glory For What He Manifest And Demonstrate In My Life.
