Proverbs 3:5 – 10- Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: 10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

The fifth verse of Proverbs 5 shows us how to be honorable sowers. An honorable sower sow as God leads them, no matter what the circumstances seem like. Why? Because they trust God. You see, in order to be an honorable sower, you have to know God.

A lot of people talk about they know God. But, really they only know Him until it comes to their money. They know Him in their prayers. They know Him in their singing. They know Him in their dancing. They know Him during the preacher’s sermon.  But as soon, as we start talking about sowing, they act like they don’t know God.

When the ninth verse says, honor the Lord with your substance, it is telling you to honor God with something that He gave you in the first place. Whatever your substance is, know that it came from God. God is saying, just pull some seeds out of what I already gave you and I’ll increase you.

The more you honor the Lord, the more substance you’ll have. But, in order to honor the Lord, you have to trust Him. You see, it says, trust in the Lord. You don’t have to trust in the seed. The Lord told you to sow the seed. Turn the seed loose.
