Overcoming Fear – Part 2

2 Timothy 1:7 – For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

A spirit of fear comes from the enemy. God did not give us fear but he gave us three forces to overcome it. Those forces are: power, love, and a sound mind. Today, we are going to deal with the Spiritual force of love.

Love overcomes fear because perfect love casts out fear. Perfect love is God’s love for us; it is complete, unending, and never fails. If you are dealing with any kind of fear, I want you to meditate on this passage.

1 John 4:15-18- Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. ¹⁶ And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. ¹⁷ Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. ¹⁸ There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

If you are in fear, you are not made perfect in love.  You must have a revelation of what God’s love is for you.

Even in the worst circumstances, there is no need for you fear. God didn’t promise us that we would not have any tribulations, trials, or tests. What he did promise us, was that He would always be with us and that His love would always dwell within us. And because He loves us and is always with us, we will always have the ability to overcome those tribulations, trials, and tests.
