For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. – Hebrews 4:12
God gives us His Word to be like Him. That is the power of this two-edged sword — We can be like God. Through His Word, God gives you instruction and He puts you in perfect alignment with Himself. But, you cannot be in alignment with Him if your mind is not renewed.
That is why this verse says that the two-edged sword is a “discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” It is pointing out the importance of your thoughts (mind) and heart being in agreement with God.
The Word also says in, Philippians 4:7, And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. God has told us in more than one place in His Word, therefore, there must be some significance to keeping both your heart and your mind.
Some people have their heart covered, but their mind open. That should not be. Your mind has an effect on your heart, and your heart has an effect on your mind. Both, have to be kept spiritually.
The enemy’s only access to you is through your mind. So, the trouble for many people is not because they didn’t pray or because they didn’t read their Bible; the trouble comes because they don’t know how to handle their mind.
It’s time to make an active effort in guarding your heart and mind. The lies that the enemy tries to feed you through deceptive thoughts, cast them down immediately! God tells us what we should be thinking about.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. – Philippians 4:7
If your thoughts are not lining up with these things, resist them! We are in the year of supernatural transformation! The only way you are going to be transformed is through your whole man lining up properly with God; spirit, soul, and body. The enemy can’t get to your spirit, he can only gain access into your life through your mind and your body is just a slave; it will be follow the condition of your spirit and your mind.
Amen Apostle Thompson! This day in the year of Supernatural Transformation, I Grasp this word with A Freshly Focused Renewed Mind. I am thankful that the God has given me His Word to be like him – Power of the two-edged sword. The two-edged sword is a discerner of the thought and the intent of my heart. Therefore it is imperative that my heart and mind be in Agreement With God. It agree that the way for me to be transformed is through my whole man lining up properly with God; spirit, soul and body. Amen! I Receive!
