There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: 20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, 21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. – Luke 16:19-21

Unfortunately, the most accurate representation of this scripture is the rich man being the world and the beggar being the church. Many believers are so used to only seeing the world with vast riches that they have lost all hope in seeing it for themselves.

If this is you, it is time to change your conditioning. It’s time to change the way you think and feel about money. It’s time to change your desire about money. You must stop just desiring what this world has to offer you: a job with insufficient compensation to take care of both your wants and needs or credit card debt designed to keep you bound to a system who has no intention of releasing you. Those are the crumbs that are falling from the rich man’s table.

As long as you desire crumbs, that’s all you will get. But, if you allow the Holy Spirit to change your heart to desire abundance, then you’ll get abundance.

You can say that you desire abundance but your words will be empty if that is not something that you truly believe. You will have to ask the Holy Spirit to change your desire and help you think, feel, and speak abundance.

Above everything else, you must change your desires to match the desires that the Lord wants for you.

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: – 2 Corinthians 9:8
