Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the Lord: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy. Wherefore David blessed the Lord before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed be thou, Lord God of Israel our father, for ever and ever. Thine, O Lord is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all. 12 Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. – 1 Chronicles 29:9-12

What a wonderful description of God! This passage of scripture is a sower’s description of God. A sower who offered to God willingly and with a perfect heart. Why? Because they knew the God they served. In order to be a sower, you have to know who you’re sowing in.

You have to have a deeper knowing than any normal description of God – you have to have a revelation of who God is. You must know that you know, that you know, that you can trust and depend on Him.

When you sow, do you release your seed to your Heavenly Father who is great, powerful, glorious, victorious, and majestic? Or have you never even thought about Him in this way? Maybe your harvest have been falling short because your expectation of God is limited. Remember, God will not give us more than the capacity we are prepared to receive.

When you meditate on scripture that tells you who God is and allow the Holy Spirit to illuminate it in your heart, the revelation of knowing who God is enlarges your capacity to receive from Him.

God is, in fact, great and powerful – and everything else this passage describes Him to be. Riches and honor do come from Him. And He wants you to be all these things to. But, the method He has developed for Him to give you all of these things is through your sowing. You must be a sower!
