Ephesians 1:17 – That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

Where it says, “The Father of Glory,” what does that mean? That means, All that God is, All that God has, and all that God can do. But, notice what term is mentioned first. It is not all that He has and all that He can do. We have to get this straight. When it comes to us experiencing God’s glory, we must first come to the point of knowing All that God is. We mess up in trying to have and do, without knowing who He is.

Just like the rudder of a ship steers the ship in the direction that it needs to go, All that He is, is the rudder that steers you into experiencing all that God has and all that God can do.

Once you learn who God is, everything else comes because you know Him. God will begin to trust you with more. He’ll begin to do more for you because He knows that you won’t betray Him. He knows, that no matter what you have in this world, you will not be detoured. You are still going to praise Him. You are still going to give Him the credit for what He has done for you.

We have to back up from our wants and come to know God. Just for who He is. Before you come to God with your expectations and desires, praise Him for who He is. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you. When you do this, then you will experience the fullness of His glory!
