That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: – Ephesians 2:7-8
Prosperity, abundance, and being rich is a gift from God. It’s a gift. You don’t have to be ashamed or embarrassed or feel the need to explain to people why you want to let God’s riches come to you. It is a gift, and guess what, God has already given it to you.
Now, this is not going to be easy to take, but God has already done everything He’s going to do for you. How? Through Jesus Christ’s finished work on the Cross.
Everything God has done for you is wrapped up in grace. So, God has already healed you. He has already given you riches. He has already given you joy. Think about some of the things you think you need. Now, say this: He has already given _____________ to me!
The problem has come in because we have not understood God’s grace or we have tried to use faith without grace or vice versa. The two must work together. Hebrews 4:2 says, For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
The gospel of Jesus Christ is the gospel of grace but it won’t profit you if you don’t mix it with your faith. See, the same way you got saved is the same way you receive the full benefits of your salvation or all of the blessings of God – by grace, through faith.
Grace is God’s part, which is already finished — it’s already done. Again, Grace is a gift – there is nothing you could have done to earn it and you don’t have to work for it.
Faith is your part. It is the method by which you receive what grace has already given you. It is your positive response to what God has already done for you.
I will be unfolding this topic to you in the days to come. Stay tuned and ask the Holy Spirit to keep your heart open to hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying.
