Praying in tongues assists you in bringing your natural tongue under control.
Control your tongue and you will control your life. Peter tells us, For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: (1 Peter 3:10)
If you pray in tongues enough, you won’t gossip. Or when you see one of your brothers or sisters in the ditch, you won’t kick them with your words.
The words that you speak into the atmosphere play a major role in what goes on in your life. Death…or life…you have the ability, with your words, to speak that out. I would hope that you would always choose to speak life.
