Today, charge your heart to understand what it means to be “new” in your mindset. The Holy Spirit will show you some things about the word “new” that will bring changes in your life. If you take a look at Luke 5:37-39, you’ll find out what the word “new” is saying about your life.
And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.
But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.
No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.
Luke 5:37-39
The word “new” relates to the word “fresh,” and because the Spirit is always fresh, this means that “old wine” (or in other words, your old ways and old thinking) won’t work any more. You are in Christ, and you are a new creature.
In order to function properly, as God sees, you will need fresh fuel in your life. When you learn how to think (or drink) new wine all the time, your spiritual journey will expand, and you will be more in control of your life. You will be able to get over certain obstacles that you were not able to get over before.
Say this aloud: Because I am in Christ, I am a new creature. I am a new creation, and I always need new, fresh fuel to function properly. All of my old ways and old things about myself have passed away! I am in Christ!
