John 2:5 – His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
The statement Mary made to these servants sets the standard for what to do when a miracle is needed. If you read the context of this scripture, you will see that there was a wedding about to take place and they realized that there was no wine for the celebration. Mary told Jesus what the problem was and then she instructed the servants to do whatever it is that He was about to tell them to do. You see, Mary had seen Jesus in action before and she knew that there was no such thing as an impossible situation for Him.
Jesus instructed them to fill the pots with water. Now, can you imagine what they must have been thinking? They needed wine, not water. Nevertheless, they followed Jesus’ instructions and when it was time to serve the wine, they had just what they needed. The same thing still works for us today. All we have to do is follow the instructions Jesus gives us.
If we want to experience the supernatural, we must learn to act according to the specific instruction that the Holy Spirit gives us for various situations. Natural methods or logical explanations are inoperative when it comes to the supernatural realm. They just won’t work. It takes the Holy Spirit to unfold, unravel, and reveal the Word of God to your mind and your spirit to really experience the supernatural like we should.
Isaiah 55:11 says, So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. If that verse is true, why does it seem sometimes that when you quote or confess scriptures your words are returning to you void? God’s Word always works, so it must be something that we are not doing right.
We are trying to quote and confess scripture without receiving the instruction from the Holy Ghost. You must to take the time to get the instruction from God’s Word. When you read the Word of God, don’t just read it unattentively; stop, pause, think about it. Meditate on it. The Holy Spirit will give you instruction. Follow His instruction and that will be the beginning of your miracles!
