Deuteronomy 10:12-13 – 1And now, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,1To keep the commandments of the Lord, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

As we see in this passage, the fear of the Lord is a requirement, not a request. Of all the other requirements God desires of us, it is listed first. Therefore, the fear of the Lord is a pre-requisite: to walk in His ways, to love Him, to serve the Lord God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, and to keep His commandments and statutes. That’s pretty major, don’t you think?

Divine fear will you bring you into a place of being able to divinely cooperate with God and recognize your dependence on Him. It will eradicate sin out of your life by bringing you into accountability and responsibility. Why? Because when you allow the Holy Spirit to design your heart to fear the Lord, you won’t be able to give honor or respect to anybody or anything but God.

Once you truly develop the fear of the Lord, your life will be changed forever. You will be able to master every situation in your life just like Jesus did. Jesus was able to walk in supernatural manifestations in His life as a man because He had the fear of the Lord. That was His secret. He consistently walked in the fear and reverential respect for His Father.
