That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. – Hebrews 6:12

Today, I want to discuss the difference between struggling and suffering in your finances.

Anytime you hear the word “struggle” you think of someone trying to escape a bad situation that they’re in. People who struggle financially are those who have tried and tried to make ends meet but just can’t. Whether it’s working several jobs or obtaining several degrees or getting into a lot of unnecessary debt — they just can’t seem to make much progress. They are stuck financially and can’t seem to get off of this world’s system.

On the other hand, those who are “suffering” in their finances, are those who may be going through hard times in their finances today, yet still remain in faith because they know that those hard times won’t last forever. They know that suffering is only something to endure for a protracted period of time and then it comes to an end. People who are “suffering” are actually just “enduring” suffering with faith and patience because they have a revelation of their God who won’t allow them to stay in that condition.

If you’re struggling instead of suffering, you’re not walking by faith, and you’re going to keep on struggling. But, if you’re enduring, you’re resting and trusting. And although things might look bad now, you know that through your faith and patience, you will inherit or receive and enjoy the fulfillment of the promise.
