When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat? And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do. – John 6:5-6

Just as He did in feeding these thousands of people, Jesus knows what He’s going to do to supply your need and provide you with surplus so that you’ll have more than enough to get by. The phrase “for he himself knew what he would do” is important. A miraculous thing happened here when an abundance of provision appeared in the face of nothing but lack.

So, how does that apply to you? First, Jesus is the same “yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8) He knew what He was going to do for those thousands of men, women, and children, and He knows what He’s going to do for you. Your biggest responsibility is to trust and obey Him and to stop trying to do everything yourself. Just as you couldn’t feed 5,000 people with your lunch, you can’t deliver yourself out of the test or trial you’re facing — or you would have already done it!

This is why you must keep sowing seeds no matter how small or insignificant you feel they are. When you’re partnering with God, any size seed can be a “demonstration seed” that moves you to the next level and completely changes your condition. So don’t eat the seed; plant it.

Jesus can take a simple seed and grow a demonstration!
